Waylon has had several of these, in different sizes and we love that it's actually made for BIG play. He can chase it, carry it, shove it around the yard and generally behave like a 140-pound toddler who just discovered recess.
Giant Paws Tip: Go BIG. For giant-breed dogs, we recommend checking out the larger sizes. And like any dog toy, supervise play and replace it when it's had one giant paw too many.
Nutri-Vet Hip & Joint Biscuits
One of Waylon’s longtime favorites. These crunchy peanut butter-flavored treats contain 300 mg of glucosamine per biscuit to support healthy hips and joints. With a giant breed dog, joint health is always on our minds, so I love that this is a treat he gets excited about and one I feel good about giving him.

7L Stainless Steel Dog Water Fountain
With a big dog, a regular water bowl can feel like it needs refilling every five minutes. We love the idea of this extra-large 7L fountain because it holds plenty of water while keeping it circulating, and the stainless-steel basin is easy to clean.

If traditional nail clippers make you nervous—or your dog isn't exactly volunteering for manicure day—an electric grinder can give you a little more control. I like that this one has six speed settings, so you can adjust the grinder rather than taking a one-speed-fits-all approach to those seriously substantial big-dog nails.
It's rechargeable and includes an adjustable grinding guard, which can help keep the nail positioned while you're working. The built-in light is another feature I like for getting a better look at what you're doing.

Because Sometimes You Just Need Them Busy
WHY WE LIKE IT
Fill it. Freeze it. Hand it to the dog. Enjoy the suspicious silence. We love the Pupsicle because it gives Waylon something to work on while we get a few minutes to do something that doesn't involve entertaining a giant dog.
It's reusable, dishwasher safe, easy to refill, and you can use ready-made treats or make your own frozen goodies.
Giant Paws Tip: For giant-breed dogs, check the XL size and always supervise. Also remember that whatever you put inside counts as treats—even if Waylon would like us all to forget that part.
Stewart Freeze-Dried Beef Liver Treats
These are serious currency in our house. 😂 Made with just one ingredient—100% beef liver—they’re simple, high-value treats that Waylon absolutely loves. We especially like them for training because apparently a Great Dane suddenly develops excellent listening skills when freeze-dried liver is involved.

Earth Rated Odor-Blocking Poop Bags
Not glamorous, but absolutely essential when you own a giant breed dog. These Earth Rated bags are generously sized, leak-proof, and designed to help lock in odors—which we appreciate because Waylon does absolutely nothing on a small scale.
We also like the fragrance-free option and the large 240-count box. It’s one of those everyday products we keep stocked because running out is simply not an acceptable situation.

I like that they are made with natural ingredients, in the USA, and they keep him busy for about 30 minutes at a time.
Giant Paws Tip: They even have birthday cake flavor for the special occasions!
Extra-Large Silicone Lick Mat
This one is Waylon-sized, which is exactly why we like it. The extra-large surface gives us plenty of room for yogurt, pumpkin, peanut butter or other dog-safe favorites, and all those little grooves keep him occupied much longer than a regular bowl would.
The suction cups help keep it put, the raised edges contain some of the mess, and the silicone is easy to clean—which matters when your “little enrichment activity” involves a Great Dane tongue the size of a washcloth.

Jack&Pup Duck Feet
Yes. They're Feet. Your Dog Will Be Thrilled.
WHY WE LIKE IT
We're just going to say it: opening a bag of duck feet takes a little getting used to.
Waylon, however, has absolutely no concerns about this.
We like these as a simple, crunchy treat—and apparently nothing says “I love you” to a giant-breed dog quite like handing him an actual duck foot.
Giant Paws Tip: These are treats, not toys. Supervise while your dog is chewing and remove any pieces you don't feel comfortable with him swallowing.
