When I started Giant Paws Market, I had an idea. I wanted to create a place where people with giant-breed dogs could find products, information, and resources that might make life with these big, lovable creatures a little easier.

But the more I've worked on this website, the more I've realized I want something bigger than that.

I want a community.

We crate trained Waylon from the beginning, and he continued using his crate until he was about two years old. It wasn't somewhere he went because he'd been bad. It was just his space. When we weren't home and couldn't supervise him, that's where he stayed. And we didn't go directly from: crate → entire house.

Tomorrow, Waylon will wake up and bravely face another day. There will be breakfast. There will be naps. There will be treats. There will probably be a walk. There will be toys. There will be people telling him what a good boy he is.

And sometime during all of this, my deeply burdened Great Dane will collapse onto the couch, look around at the comfortable little life we've built around him...
